What did you do before coming to Parsons?I earned an MA from Suffolk University in Boston and a BBA in International Business. I worked at a real estate investment company before coming to Parsons. What is your current obsession?I am an assistant designer in the Stan Herman division of the loungewear company Carole Hochman Design Group. I create concepts and color stories, work on fabric development, and interface with domestic and international factories on a daily basis. Stan Herman is the president of CFDA; learning from his years of experience in the fashion industry is a fantastic opportunity. What is your best Parsons memory?Don’t rush your fashion career. Take time to understand what fashion is—from a design standpoint, a business standpoint, and a personal standpoint. Make it your goal to find out where you fit in the fashion industry and learn from every experience. What is your current fashion obsession?ME! I am very focused on developing my own personal design aesthetic. It is important to me that I continue to expand and articulate my thoughts, goals, and views on fashion. What was your most influential class?Fashion Business was a must! Although I have a previous degree in business, Fashion Business taught me that it takes more than a fabulous design to make an impact in the fashion world. To succeed, designers need intelligence and drive to create comprehensive marketing strategies and make the smart financial decisions that can turn a dream into a reality.
